We all heard the expression that ,,we are what we eat ” but what about ,,you are what you read ?”
Anyway the epithaf consists of the analogy that our human brain feeds with knowledge ,the more you read ,the more you assimilate .We should take the opportunity to read aloud and to practice on daily basis .Reading is like riding a bike ….at fist we were wobbling all over the place ,but then practice and practice and practice and riding becomes a second nature …you dont think about it anymore ,eventually we may even consider to ride without using our hands …A bit bold ,isn it ?A bit egoistical ,dont you think ?
The reasons why to read books are not limited at all but I have compiled and amalgamated some reasons based on scientific research and common sense, to give you the definitive reasons (they are based mainly on my own assumptions ,right ?).From my own perspective I like to read because books broaden my mind or help me get through a sticking point in my life. Research wise ,those who read have been known to have more finely-tuned brains than those who prefer more passive activities, so anyone hoping to improve their minds both psychologically and cognitively might want to think about taking up the habit of regular reading.I like to read abstract papers, ordinary books ,also books which are quite vital to my career .I believe books and articles equip me with the confidence I need however people often misidentify self-confidence for egotistical behaviour, and vice versa. These two have a very distinct difference. Confidence is usually backed with logic, reasoning or experience. An egotistical stance, on the other hand, might be backed with, well, some sort of inflexible stubbornness or heavy feeling of accomplishment.
I guess I am somewhere in the middle as I can experience a bit of both .Books often improve my imagination .I easily could become Alice in the Wonderland ,Snow white ,a powerful leader or even a CEO .I can be what I want to be and so you .You are only limited by what you can imagine, and the worlds described in books, as well as other peoples views and opinions will help you expand your understanding of what is possible. By reading a written description of an even or a place, your mind is responsible for creating that image in your head, instead of having the image placed in front of you when you watch television.
Reading makes me smarter ,cool ,awesome .Books make me interesting and reading gives me a chance to consume huge amount of research in a relatively short amount of time.
Books bring magic.Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.Reading was my escape and my comfort, my consolation, my stimulant of choice: reading for the pure pleasure of it, for the beautiful stillness that surrounds you when you hear an author’s words reverberating in your head.
I am very ambitious and very driven and I believe that reading will bring a new challenge in my life. I guess the books I read made me who I am today .My new image which is presented to the world is mainly determined by my action, behaviors ,comments and not at last my attitude towards things and others .Books make us who we really are .Litte things what we called books ,articles ,newspapers and so forth sometime matter most .It’s the little things we do or don’t do every day that shape us in to who we are. The little things determine how we respond when big things come in to our lives.
Books give me direction .In the chaos of the modern life , with so many loud voices all around us pulling us in many directions, it is more important now than ever that we learn to resist the siren song of distraction and keep our eyes and ears peeled for the headlines. Books bring quiet and peace .Oscar Wilde had written once : ,,Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming. This is a fault. Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope. They are the elect to whom beautiful things mean only Beauty. There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written. That is all.” But the modern culture made us to forget who we are .The modern culture is made to celebrate it .There are so many copy cats People want to become popular .But these things are not made for me .
Books are home.
Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.” ― Anna Quindlen, How Reading Changed My Life
